My condolences to you on this sad ending, dear Davies family. My special concern and love to Tobi, as I well appreciate what a fine love you two had. I loved Gillian’s schedule to go upstairs and watch tv for a while so Tobi and Doug could be alone in the kitchen to prepare supper. Gillian well appreciated your strong and healthy marriage. My prayers come to you now, Tobi. May God carry you through this storm.
Sincerely, with Love, karen chadwick
Doug was my professor at the UM School of Social Work, and then agreed to be my supervisor for the last two years. He was an outstanding human being, and I will miss him dearly. His contributions to the field of infant mental health will forever carry on, but the love for his family was what was most important to him. Rest in peace Doug.
I have sent a message to the family as ours was a family relationship – 4 generations if you include Gillian! But now I am thinking of the things I forgot to mention. When Doug “retired” (which he never really did) he became an extraordinary grandparent – caring, giving, loving in a special way – Sage, Hannah and Hayden are so fortunate!
